are grouped into the following categories:
Associations/Organizations
American
Arbitration Association (AAA) – The
AAA dispute resolution web site provides an easily
navigable menu of extensive DR resources. Included
are eighteen focus areas, many of which provide information
in the form of rules and procedures, forms, guides,
topics of interest, current articles, press releases,
and links. The site also includes AAA publications,
links to Federal law and state statues on DR.
American
Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution
– The Section of Dispute Resolution is one of
the fastest growing sections in the ABA. The Section
provides timely DR-related information and resources
on its web site, sponsors two email DR discussion
groups and an annual conference, supports twenty-seven
committees, and is in the forefront of developing
model standards of conduct for DR neutrals as well
as the enactment of new DR legislation. Associate
membership is available to non-lawyers who practice
in the field of DR. All Section members receive subscriptions
to the Dispute Resolution Magazine and the Just Resolutions
Newsletter.
Association
for Conflict Resolution (ACR) – ACR
is an organization of over 6,000 members representing
all types of DR professionals and dispute areas. ACR
was formed in 2001 from the merger of the Academy
of Family Mediators (AFM), the Conflict Resolution
Education Network (CREnet), and the Society for Professionals
in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR). ACR covers eighteen
professional interest sections and has twenty-three
geographical regions or chapters that promote networking
among its professionals.
Center
for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR)
– CEDR, headquartered in London, was launched
in 1990 and has since become a major ADR organization
in Europe. As an independent non-profit organization,
CEDR partners with international businesses, governments
and the judiciary to research and develop effective
dispute resolution practice. The CEDR site contains
a wealth of information including featured articles,
publications and model documents on dispute resolution,
access to dispute resolution law resources, and training
and education opportunities. CEDR Solve is the commercial
branch of CEDR, providing dispute resolution and prevention
services.
Chartered
Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) –
Founded in 1915 and headquartered in London, UK, CIArb
is an international body of over 10,500 members in
more than 90 countries. It promotes the use of arbitration
and other DR processes through training and education
and serves as an “… international resource
centre for practitioners, policy makers, academics
and those in business concerned with the cost effective
and early settlement of disputes.” CIArb’s
membership includes practitioners in law, construction,
shipping, finance, insurance, agriculture, accounting,
and medicine. CIArb has a multi-tiered membership
with formal courses, examinations and experience required
for the active membership levels.
CPR
International Institute for Conflict Prevention and
Resolution – CPR is a non-profit
alliance of global corporations, leading law firms,
legal academic institutions and public institutions
whose stated mission is “… to spearhead
innovation and promote excellence in public and private
dispute resolution, and to serve as a primary multinational
resource for avoidance, management and resolution
of business-related and other disputes.” CPR
achieves it mission through research and development,
education, advocacy and the practice of dispute resolution
via its own panel of neutral DR providers. The CPR
site covers 22 practice areas and contains a wealth
of useful information on procedures and clauses, publications,
training events, and reports on CPR-sponsored public
policy projects. An entire section of this site is
devoted to international ADR.

CPR
International Institute for Conflict Prevention and
Resolution – CPR maintains an extensive
list of newsletters, serial updates, white papers,
books and videos. A catalog of offerings is available
on-line and prices are structured for members and
non-members.
Harvard
Program on Negotiation Publications Clearinghouse
– The online catalog of the Publications Clearinghouse
uses a topic-specific search engine to provide access
to an extensive collection of books, monographs and
working papers, curricula, teaching aids and packaged
role simulations, and videos. A hardcopy of this catalog
is available.
Jossey-Bass
Publishers – Now part of the John
Wiley & Sons publishing group, Jossey-Bass has
an on-line catalog of nearly 60 DR books from this
publisher covering the areas of the workplace, education,
healthcare, and family. For each book there is a brief
description, table of contents, excerpts (in pdf format),
author information and reviews.

& Newsletters
ADRWorld.com
– A daily internet-based electronic news service
from the American Arbitration Association that features
coverage of breaking DR news, regulatory and legislative
updates, summaries and full text of court decisions,
and a searchable database of statues, court rules,
policy documents and news archives. A single user
subscription is $245 per year. There is a free two-week
trial subscription.
Alternatives
- This monthly newsletter, co-published by the CPR
Institute and Josey-Bass in hardcopy form and delivered
via the Internet, reports on DR developnments, techniques,
and court practices. The individual subscription rate
is $190 per year. Alternatives articles in
full text are available from Wiley Interscience, LEXIS-NEXIS
and WESTLAW.
Conflict
Resolution Quarterly
– Published by Jossey-Bass Publishers,
this quarterly journal covers “… relationships
between theory, research, and practice of third parties
in the conflict management and dispute resolution
field to promote more effective professional applications.”
Article abstracts for more recent past issues are
viewable online. The individual annual subscription
rate is $80 for the U.S. and $104 for the rest of
the world.
Dispute
Resolution Journal – The American
Arbitration Association publishes this journal quarterly.
The individual subscription rate is $150 in the U.S.,
$165 in Canada, and $180 in other non U.S. countries.
A compilation of past articles from 1996-2000 is available
on CD-ROM.
Journal
on Dispute Resolution (JDR) – This
quarterly journal is a student-edited publication
of the Ohio State University College of Law and is
the official journal of the American Bar Association’s
Section of Dispute Resolution. Now in its nineteeth
year of publication, each issue of this award winning
journal consists of three articles and an extensive
bibliography of DR resources. The individual domestic
subscription rate is $50 per year; $60 per year for
international subscribers. Annual and cumulative bibliographies
on diskette are available at additional cost. A bibliography
of past articles is available for online viewing.
Back issues are available. Indices of articles, book
reviews, noted cases and statutes, and abstracts of
selected articles are available for online viewing.

International
Negotiation: A Journal of Theory and Practice
– Published three times per year, this journal
“…addresses the processes of negotiation
relating to political, security, environmental, ethnic,
economic, business, legal, scientific and cultural
issues and conflicts among nations, international
and regional organizations, multinational corporations
and other non-state parties.” The table of contents
and article abstracts from past issues can be viewed
online. The individual subscription rate is $140 US
and 112 Euro per year.
Negotiation
Journal - This quarterly journal published
by Blackwell Publishing in cooperation with the Harvard
Program on Negotiation provides articles on negotiation
research and techniques, analytical descriptions of
negotiation practice, book reviews and commentary.
A sample copy along with the tables of contents from
recent editions can be viewed online. Available in
both printed and online formats. The individual subscription
rate for print copies plus on-line access to eletronic
versions is $83 per year for US subscribers; other
rates for rest of world.
Negotiation
– This monthly newsletter is a publication of
the Harvard Program on Negotiation (PON) at the Harvard
Law School. The newsletter highlights research programs,
forthcoming books, PON courses and people associated
with PON, many of whom are noted “movers and
shakers” in the DR world. The individual subscription
rate is $149.00 in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and
$169.00 in other non U.S. countries.

Developments in Dispute Resolution (DIS-RES)
– This newsletter, sponsored by the Willamette
University College of Law Center for Dispute Resolution
(CDR), provides updates on DR-related decisions, legislation,
regulations, articles and books. Past issues of the

is open to the general public to promote a wider understanding
and information-sharing within the DR field. List
postings in the form of a compiled digest are also
